On July 15, 2026, Michigan DHHS issued a Medicaid provider alert confirming that the AMA CPT Editorial Panel is deleting the global maternity care codes (59400, 59510, 59620 and related) effective January 1, 2027, and that Michigan Medicaid will transition to separate CPT codes for individual maternity services. A policy bulletin with the coding updates goes to public comment in September 2026. Current bundled policy applies through December 31, 2026.
