Natus Medical / Natus Neuro
Legacy incumbent in neonatal neuromonitoring whose Olympic Brainz Monitor still anchors conventional bedside aEEG workflows in many NICUs.
What They Do
The Natus platform sits in the vault mainly as an incumbent reference point rather than a startup profile. In neonatal care, the relevant business is the neuro side of the former Natus Medical portfolio: EEG, neuromonitoring, and newborn-care products that established the conventional bedside brain-monitoring stack. The old Natus Medical business was taken private by ARCHIMED in 2022 and legally separated into Natus Neuro and Natus Sensory in January 2025, with independent management teams and boards.
Competitive Position
Natus matters because it is the default comparison point for almost every neonatal brain-monitoring thesis in the vault. Ceribell, CergenX, and NeuroBell are all selling against the limitations of incumbent monitoring workflows that Natus helped define. That makes Natus less interesting as a venture story than as a market-structure fact.
