What They Do
KOVE medical is developing a device that is placed through the existing fetoscopy access port at the end of an intervention to close the defect in the amniotic membrane. The company says placement takes less than five minutes and requires no additional puncture. The objective is to reduce chorioamniotic separation, membrane leakage, and preterm birth associated with fetal surgery, but the device has not yet established clinical benefit in humans.
